Europe’s Online Advertising Industry Releases Self-Regulation Framework
Brussels, 14 April 2011: IAB Europe today released its cross-European self-regulatory Framework for Online Behavioural Advertising (OBA). The Framework, outlining good practice aimed at enhancing transparency and consumer control, has been signed by the online industry’s leading businesses*.
Self-regulatory issue within SPIR works through Self-regulatory Committee. So far, the Committee dealt primarily with issues of using of content (text, audio, video records, respectively audiovisual content). Since April 2016, the scope for self-regulation was extended to personal data protection. The Committee develops and recommends standards and standards of conduct, provides a clear interpretation of the legislative restrictions and defines best practices. These recommendations should help the user to avoid a risk of sanctions.
